WHAT WE DO

Cupping Therapy

Cupping uses gentle, controlled suction to open up muscle tissue and vastly increase local circulation of blood and fluids. Cupping Therapy softens tight muscles, tones attachments, loosens adhesions and lifts connective tissue by creating suction and negative pressure. This same suction also brings hydration and blood flow to body tissues, and drains excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways (a vital part of the immune system).

Massage Therapy/Sports Massage

We tailor each massage session to your individual needs in order to release the stress and tension and create relaxation. Sessions can help you increase energy, relax muscles, relax the mind, maximize individual performance and minimize pain. Our massages therapists are highly trained and experienced working with pain and injuries. We use a combination of techniques and experience to achieve the results you’re looking for.

Kinesio/Rock Tape

Kinesio/RockTape accelerates healing and recovery by lifting the skin away from the muscle and improving blood and lymphatic circulation. RockTape reduces the feeling of pain and fatigue. When applied properly it improves its ability to contract even when the muscle is weakened.

IASTM (toolwork)

IASTM treatments were developed by experienced medical professionals through years of detailed research. The use of these tools and their effectiveness has been scientifically validated over and over again.

IASTM is another option to resolve pain and tightness in the body. This approach to fascia work reduces friction which allows for precision, sensitivity and depth. IASTM instruments make it easier to detect and treat fascial dysfunction. They magnify the abnormalities (scars, restrictions and adhesions) in the fascia and make it easier to locate the area to treat. The goal is to trigger an inflammatory healing response. This will stimulate the production of new collagen and proper, functional, pain-free healing.

Stretch Therapy

Fascial Stretch Therapy® (FST) is an assisted stretching technique that is performed by a Certified Fascia Stretch Therapist. The stretching takes place on a treatment table with comfortable straps to stabilize the part of the body not being worked on. This technique uses combinations of PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) as well as traction. Pain is never allowed and considered a negative response. Our therapist will combine different techniques from the joint capsules in waves of movements targeting multiple angles to release, relax, and stretch the tissue.

There are a limited number of Fascial Stretch Therapy® (FST) trained therapists in the nation, but you’ll find many of them here at Indy Sports Massage.

Micro-Point Stimulation (MPS)

MPS locates and applies concentrated DC microcurrent to therapeutically active trigger points for the purpose of relaxing muscles, calming the nervous system and releasing endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers. The Dolphin is engineered to detect and treat these active points with great scientific precision & potency, providing stimulation of all three systems at once — nervous, muscular and endocrine.

MPS has been a remarkable success in the fight against chronic pain. The results are so impressive using this approach that complete or substantial relief (60-85%+) from pain often occurs within 1-3 applications.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Lymphatic Drainage Massage Therapy, also called Lymph drainage massage, is a specialized form of massage that stimulates the lymphatic system, promoting the removal of bodily toxins and waste. This therapeutic technique uses gentle, rhythmic strokes to increase the flow of lymph, a fluid that carries waste products away from the tissues and towards the heart.

Prenatal Massage

Studies indicate that massage performed after the first trimester can reduce stress, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, reduce edema , promote better sleep. We use body pillows to position the client in a comfortable side position.
